Detainees housed in the women's section of the Franklin County Detention Center are being denied undergarments and feminine hygiene products. Detainees face public ridicule when asking for these necessary items. Nobody should have to jump through hoops, face illness, or be humiliated because they cannot easily or privately access pads or tampons. Requiring inmates to pay for these items is nothing short of denying access to basic necessities to those inmates that cannot afford them. The women in your jail should be afforded some basic human dignity and should not be put in a position in which their health is jeopardized.
