Unjustifiable Justice – Retaliation against whistleblowers in the Texas judicial system

Think what it would be like if you lived in a world where lawbreakers and thugs were the very people charged with a duty that is supposed to bring about justice and peace... sounds like the plot to a fictional novel, doesn't it?

Well, it isn't fiction, and to experience such a thing, you need only to take the wrong step in Texas... There is nothing in this article that is not true, yet no-one is being held accountable.

A simple look at TDCJ's history and lawsuits filed in the past will reveal such atrocities as: feeding harmful “Vita-Pro” to prisoners, which was not approved by the Food and Drug Administration, literally causing severe and adverse effects such as boils, heart and organ failure, and who knows what long term?

Murder, sexual assault, drug trafficking, prostitution, cruel and unusual punishment, harrassment, retribution, torturous acts, all of which is literally “swept under the rug” while this crime syndicate continues to operate. Why? Why is TDCJ not being stopped? It is because those subject to these criminal actions had themselves been found guilty of a crime – is that just? No matter how you word it - “labor that is coerced and inadequately rewarded” is slavery. Texas may not stand behind each “offender” with a whip, but if you refuse to work, you will regret it.

“Special Housing Restriction” or SPCR is seg with a cell mate. “Good time”, “work time” or “flat time” account for absolutely nothing at the parole board review because parole is “discretionary”. No matter how you look at it, being subjected to 100º+ temperatures without any way to escape the heat but to drink lukewarm water that is contaminated with notable levels of lead and arsenic is cruel. Torture is defined as “causing great physical or mental suffering or anxiety”. After over three years in solitary confinement, my mental suffering is great. Sensory deprivation, the lack of social interaction, sunlight deprivation, inadequate exercise, and for no justifiable reason. I've had no disciplinary cases that merit such “security”. Never in any riot, no weapons, no escape attempts or assaulting staff... I haven't had a case in many years, but my parole is already decided before “review”. I'll remain for the next 7 ½ years in torturous conditions, and I am just one among many, of all races, with “offenses” against the State of Texas.

Retaliation is certainly a great cause for anxiety, and I have already been pulled out to be warned in a very subtle manner. I'm a man without freeworld interference should I require it. Those are the easiest whistleblowers to silence. It only takes a word from some officer that you made a threat, or that a bit of “contraband” was found during a cell search, and it's the ball in their court. In advance of my articles, I've written a sealed legal mail letter to Texas Senator John Whitmire and mentioned my concern about retaliation efforts by prison staff here. I was pulled out by a high ranking official here following my latest article “The Mentally Ill – Exploited, Abused, Neglected”, featuring an afterthought by Keith “Comrade Malik” Washington.

Once inside their office I was left alone with them and the door closed. Standing there in the air conditioned room would have been a pleasant respite had I not known the nature of such a visit. You do not get pulled out and marched across the unit, then left alone in the room with such an official for no reason. So I stood, saying nothing and with my hands shackled behind my back. No cameras, no witnesses to say what occurred here, just an “offender” and the powerful...

“What do you got going on?” was the question I'd been asked, and though I was quite sure I knew the meaning, I responded “That's what I want to ask, you pulled me out.” The official said “We found what appears to be a weapon inside your cell today...” I immediately pulled my only defense and cut in with “I have written a sealed legal mail letter to Senator John Whitmire with my concerns about retaliation efforts by the staff here. I have had no cases in many years and no weapons cases ever. Should I suddenly catch a case following my recent articles concerning prison conditions, it would look like a retaliation effort.” A cold stare ensued for some very long seconds, then the talking began. What was said after that isn't at all important – simply put, I made it out, this round...

Brothers and sisters of the struggle, I am in this fight – in the trenches. There are so many here behind the wall who either don't know where to begin in this struggle for freedom from tyranny, or are simply afraid of what would happen. This fear is reasonable, people lose their lives behind the wall... what I will not do is give up. Criminals have been given charge over me. People who break more laws, and laws against humanity in a single day, than I have ever committed, or ever would. You are my voice and weapon against this organized and deadly system, TDCJ.

This is Comrade Kado, encouraging you all to fight the power. My access to media is limited, and so I encourage any brothers and sisters involved in the struggle to contact me with news, questions, or just words in solidarity.
